I love loving books, but my god, hating books fuels me with energy. I just spite-read a bunch of 1β reviews of a book I absolutely despise highlighting everything that annoyed me about it. And I feel invigorated.
(No I will not say the name of the book. For some reason people love it.) #booksky
In honor of BlackHistoryMonth I'm creating a buy list of the quintessential African American Literature Canon.
These are the books that we would save from a burning library #booksky #blackbooksky
I'll make the list public when we get at least 50 responses.

26.01.2025 22:52 β π 74 π 10 π¬ 1 π 5UK media is cautiously beginning to report the new allegations against Neil Gaiman. Our libel laws are very tough, hence the caution. Theyβve linked to the NY Mag story. The allegations are so horrific that the piece is hard to read. I skimmed parts of it. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

we went through this when the Gaiman allegations first came out, but "I hated his work and always knew he was a predator and you're bad and stupid for not seeing that" is a singularly unhelpful contribution to the discourse
lots of people didn't know, his work meant a lot to them, let them grieve

βοΈ DO NOT read this if youβre a rape survivor in a fragile state. There are descriptions of being raped that are extremely triggering. βοΈ
Neil Gaiman is a disgusting sexual predator who keeps getting away with raping women.
This was an absolutely horrific read. It disturbed me to my very core.
