Now is the perfect time for photographing the woodland floor. One of my favourite leaves are those of the Holly. They are very variable in colour raging from almost black, though browns, gold and turquoise. Next time you pass the evergreen Holly have a look at the fallen leaves underneath. #macro

It never looks nice when it's like that. Mind you the roads here were a bit dodgy first thing, which may have been a nightmare in a busy place like Durham.

The River Tees at High Force this morning after last nights heavy rain. There is some floodwater coming over the middle of High Force, but it had dropped considerably by the time I got there.

Great shot Mike, I often stay at the Manesty campsite. The lake must have been well up after all that rain.

Shafts of light create sun rays which are illuminating the golden autumnal colours on a tree beside a river.

This morning started off with thick fog which looked like it would thin and clear by late morning. This was just downstream of Barnard Castle, Teesdale, County Durham, UK as it began to burn off.
