And by "go off" I mean this in the most Minnesota Nice way. "I kindly suggest that you read Grant and Booth (2009) and Sutton et al (2019). Those are the review types. Your review appears to be __x__."

Last week me: I'm not peer reviewing for the rest of 2026. I've done enough.
Today me: Gets a request to review a "Systematic Scoping Review". Flips table. Accepts the request just to go off about review types.

A shift in the WNBA.

In 2022, 6 black head coaches.

In 2026, 2 black head coaches, 0 black women.

There’s been progress β€” 7/15 are women, including 2 of color β€” but for a league that’s 60%+ black, does raise questions about why coaching hires don’t better reflect that.

This week, I withdrew from a speaking engagement at a public university because they sent me a list of prohibited β€œwords & concepts.” I will not humor this censorship. It does a disservice to the stories I’m discussing & the audience, who deserve unfettered access to information & conversation.

Is it a threat to free speech when the President of the United States threatens to yank the broadcast license of a channel whose reporters are asking him challenging questions?

I ask because I feel like there used to be tons of pundits worried about free speech. Where'd they go?

Same. And it's so enraging that (many) news orgs have endorsed this dehumanizing behavior by repeatedly kissing the ring.
