DEEP DIVE: Sir Giles Gilbert Scott (1880-1960) followed in both his father and grandfatherβs architectural footsteps, and was a trustee of @soanemuseum.bsky.social.
The telephone box design was inspired by Soaneβs neoclassical design for the family mausoleum.
DEEP DIVE: Sir George Gilbert Scott (1811-1878) had his hand in the reconstruction of Reading Abbey Gateway, following its partial collapse during a storm in 1861.
Sir George also designed the nearby Reading Gaol, with William Boynthon Moffatt, which was built in 1844.
DEEP DIVE: Sir John Soane (1753-1837) was born in Goring-On-Thames, and was commissioned by Edward Simeon to build the monument in 1804.
Soane was buried at St Pancras Old Church, London.
