I always sit in on the NP’s (who has been with the VA since before I was born) lectures with the trainees, and she starts with:
1. What do you think the experience for a WW2 vet was like coming home?
2. How about a Korean War vet (don’t just say MASH)?
3. A Vietnam vet?
4. An Iraq/Afghanistan vet?
It’s an absolute honor to get to go to work everyday and take care of veterans.
