Fantastic concert yesterday at the Waldbühne, Berlin: the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra, featuring young musicians from different Middle East countries, conducted by Daniel Barenboim.
The Divan project, co-founded by Barenboim & writer Edward Saif sends a clear message of cooperation & coexistence.

Today we honor the victims and survivors of the #SrebrenicaGenocide.
Safeguarding their stories is our shared responsibility.

Srebrenica did not happen overnight.

It is our duty to stand up and never look away when #HumanRights are violated and the dignity of others is questioned.

Putting aside the suffering & trauma of survivors of sexual violence during the Kosovo war has allowed impunity & stigmatization to persist.The impressive minimalist museum „moment“ calls on all to acknowledge their pain & courage.

Pleasure to be back in #Kosovo for #WPSRKS2025, on invitation of President Vjosa Osmani. Underlined on my panel that lasting peace & recovery need inclusive processes, taking into account also interests & specific trauma of children.Transitional Justice is key for reconciliation.

One element of Germany’s comprehensive support for USG SRSG Patten is dedicated to building local capacity in #Syria. Tens of thousands of #CRSV survivors in Syria are in need of support. Accountability for these crimes is an essential element for long-term stabilization. 2/2
