At times it can be clogged with sightseers in motor homes. And it can be heavily patrolled at times.
But if you pick the right time and day, it can be a ball.

When I was a kid in college at TSC (TCNJ) I'd bail out of class and race up and down all the river roads (29, 611, etc) in my Sprite just for the fun of it. I still do stuff like that in my Midget. 😉

Funny but I've never taken my 7 up to Hawks Nest.
I went up there with a group of guys last year with my Cayman and one of the guys brought his 7-like Exomotive Exocet. I ended up chasing him..fun!
Calif is famous for all your neat roads. But when I'm there, it's always in some boring rental car

Rainy day today, but it's getting warmer and will soon be a good time to take the bike and the British roadsters out to Hawks Nest (45 minutes from me).

These sound like Legend cars. 1250cc bike engines. I share the track with these once a year in W. Virginia. Apparently, no age restrictions for these cars. One of the local hit-shoes is 14 years old. I saw him flip his car like 6 times. Then he jumped out smiling!

I taught early programming on teletypes with 1" paper tape ("ticker tape"). We used a Telex network with 45.45 baud rate.
Most of this programming was for numerical control (NC) machine tool control. Today we would call this CNC code. It's very similar to the code used for 3D printers.

Derek and his wife Pat are two of the most cheerful and optimistic people you will ever meet. They drove all the way to Florida from Lime Rock (1300 miles) in the loud, bumpy LeMonstre with no top and a teeny tiny windscreen. She told me it was 'no bother".
He posts many of his adventures on FB.

Gas prices in NJ are up about 15%......so far.

She is no loss.

Green PBX race car built for the old "H-Mod" category with 850cc engine (from back in the '50s). Designed and built by Candi Poole. Now owned and raced by my friend Santo. That's his red vintage tow vehicle too.

Derek Drinkwater's "LeMonstre" built as a nut and bolt replica of Briggs Cunningham's Cadillac-based LeMans racer. We met Derek and his wife Pat at LeMans last year and later, met them again when they raced this car at Lime Rock. After which they drove it to Florida pulling this trailer. Then shipped it home to the UK. It's back in Florida racing right now. I didn't take this photo...it's better than all the ones I took.

We just saw the special Corvette show at Simeone Museum (just ended). They had C1s up to a C8.
Z06, fuelie, Mako Shark, etc.
The Gran Sport was neat. Apparently shares no parts with any production 'Vette.

Last year for the first time. Car service picked me up at Newark Airport in some sort of non-descript Tesla.

But I've driven all sorts of electric golf carts!

My preferred mode of transportation is an MG Midget or Lotus 7.

But when it comes to ordinary, practical vehicles, minivans rule! 👍

I recall seeing Surtees race the air-cooled Honda V8 F1 car in the '60s. What a glorious noise that was!

Yes, perfection. Here's my photo of a similar Jag six with triple Webers.
I saw this engine in a C-type Jag at LeMans last summer. This is the C-type that won the 24 Hours overall in 1953.

I had one just like that. Bought it new. Same year & color. Used it to tow my MG racer on an open trailer all over the northeast plus one very memorable 1000 mile trip (fuel stops only) to collect my Austin in Ontario during a blizzard.
Towing was hard on it. Trans started slipping so I traded it in
