Born in Hazard, Kentucky. Nicknamed β€œThe Kentucky Rifle”. Averaged 1 made 3 per game that year

If you’re not zooming in on Jeff’s pic to get a closer look at the 72-73 ABA 3-pt. leaders, I don’t even want to know you.

Going to use the time travel technology, whenever it's invented, to go back to 2014 me and tell him that one day, for a few seconds, he'll ask himself if initial reports of the U.S. and Israel assassinating Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is just a Kalshi thing.

Let’s grab a beer soon and I’ll tell you an interesting subplot around this.

The *front* of the sweater had Jalen Brunson, Carmelo Anthony and the Knicks logo on it. A Knicks in the front, Packers in the back custom sweater?!

The back of a man at the Bucks game in Milwaukee. The back of his sweater shows Packets quarterback Jordan Love.

Tough night in the gym for the Bucks, but this guy’s sweater was an interesting subplot. …

We got to our seats at the Bucks game a little late. It was 14-8 Knicks when we sat down. It is now 46-30 Knicks in the second quarter, and I’m pretty sure I’ve only seen the Knicks miss one shot since we sat down.

you think you've seen the whole movie, and then the alt text reveals you haven't even finished act two

It has been a fascinating thing to see unfold. When we first saw the district’s literature about needs and costs, I assumed the tax increase would raise hell, but it’s this park and memorial issue becoming what it has that has caught me totally off guard.

You gotta go back to the full beard immediately. Glue it back on. The current look is abominable.

I was thinking about our smoking exchange last night and realized I can’t remember the name we gave the two-smokes session. Disappointing. We did, however, have β€œthe Dan Kolb cigarette.” Light a smoke when Dan Kolb came in for the Brewers, and he’d have the save wrapped before we finished the grit.

The beers/tacos/running thing, as written, does not require the beer to have alcohol in it. NA beers have come a long way. I could do 24 NA Riverwest Steins before lunch.

I am willing to put up with a lot on this website. Much more than most others can. But repeated exposure to that Kim Mulkey photo is obscene.

Just start digging. It's better than doing nothing! Literally hours of entertainment. You can put a treasure chest in there, once you find a treasure chest. Or maybe there'll be cool bugs down there.

Went for a run and saw two kids working together to break a really big stick into two merely big sticks. The old classics still play.

Professional basketball player Bobby Portis is standing on an open-top bus with his right fist raised triumphantly over his head. He is wearing a WWE championship belt, purple shorts with the word VIOLA across the front crotch area, a black T-shirt that says EARNED on it and a baseball cap that says CHAMPIONS across the front and that features a Milwaukee Bucks logo. It is July 2021 and the Bucks had won the NBA title a couple days earlier. He is surrounded by other people on top of the bus, which was traveling along Water Street in downtown Milwaukee. A cream-colored office building is behind Portis and a woman in a blue shirt is looking out the window at the parade.

I've done a larger-than-usual number of "serious" posts today, so here's a photo I took of Bobby Portis during the Bucks title parade in 2021. Let's bring things back to The Bucks Zone that this account is typically dwelling in.

It's a dark world, but one small, enjoyable thing is that Mamdani appeals to the president's vanity just like Stephen Miller does, but in public and for something that helps his people while (at least temporarily) curbing Miller's awful reach.

I replied to someone, it didn't appear in the timeline and when I checked my profile page, it said it had been removed. I came back about 15 minutes later and it was where it was supposed to be and other people were responding to it.

Just sent a text with β€œrumchata” typed in it and the iPhone autocorrected it to RumChata, so everybody can relax about tech working against our interests. Tim Cook has the branding dialed in for us.

What I'm trying to say is that thinking this way is really weird and has surprised me in my advancing years haha. Smoking! Horrible stuff that messes up everything about your health, sociability, etc., and yet, sometimes I see someone smoking and think, "That's right, brother. Enjoy."

All the rituals around smoking, like naming the double-cigarette session, the places and circumstances that fire up the craving. I loved all of it. I still drink, but I don't look back at the absurd drinking excesses with a little romanticism like I do with smoking. Not even close.

You should never smoke. Because you’re on this website, you’re likely far past the age where you’d even consider it if you’re not already doing it.

But smoking is uniquely satisfying. Just reading about it activates a pleasure center in my brain.

I have a much healthier view of addiction in all its forms now. I’m from Wisconsin, so there is a little β€œRehab is for quitters” in many men my age. That’s a relic of my life from decades ago, but I feel no self-loathing about having smoked.

LRT: I haven’t had a cigarette in 14 years. I’ll never go back, not even once.

But I loved smoking, socially in college, then I got a job and hit it hard for 13 years. I made it a sport. The spicier the food, the better the cigarette. An especially wonderful meal earned two smokes, back to back.
