Graphic that says: SBWU ULP Strike day 12, and we're just getting started

It's DAY 12 of our national, open-ended ULP strike.

Thousands of baristas in over 65 cities are on strike demanding higher wages, better hours, and an end to union-busting. And we're just getting started πŸ”₯

We asked 2,500 Americans how they really feel about billionaires Campaign donations from the country’s richest are soaring. But only 12 percent of respondents say billionaires have a positive impact on society.

58% of Americans think billionaires spending more money on elections is bad, while only 12% think it's a good thing.

Baristas are locking arms in front of lines of trucks.

This distribution center is Starbucks’ largest on the East Coast, which is why we’re showing up to send a message. We're ready to continue escalating our ULP strike until Starbucks does the right thing.

We're primarying John Fetterman.

Last week, Fetterman again sold out working Pennsylvanians. He was the deciding vote for a Republican budget bill that will strip healthcare from over 400,000 Pennsylvanians.

We deserve real working class leadership in the Senate, not a Trump-enabling Democrat.

Nearly 1,000 UPMC Magee-Womens Hospitals nurses vote to unionize Those in favor of a union at the hospital say the push came so that they can have more time with their patients along with having a seat at the decision-making table.

Congratulations to the 1,000 nurses at Magee who voted to unionize in a historic election.

Pennsylvania’s budget crisis is political, not fiscal | Opinion The budget fight isn’t over; there are solutions on the table. But we’re done accepting a system where the richest man in the state gets a free ride while the rest of us are told to tighten our belts.

The same legislators who claim that the state government doesn't have enough money to fund essential services refuse to consider a solution staring them in the face.

We need to tax the rich & make PA's billionaires pay their fair share.

Eagles Home Opener Looks Like It'll Be One Giant Traffic Shit Show Because of SEPTA Situation The home opener between the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys looks like it'll be a traffic nightmare if SEPTA doesn't get funding.

Republicans in Harrisburg are holding SEPTA hostage to make traffic & transit worse for the Eagles’ home opener the season after winning the Super Bowl.

Our members head back to work on Monday & welcome students back to school on 8/25. A strike is always a last resort; after all, we're parents of Philly school students, too.

The 1-year extension of our last CBA gave the School District ample notice of members' needs. Where's the urgency, SDP?

Today, the Working Families Party State Committee is writing in support of the AFSCME DC 33 workers who have made the difficult decision to go on strike as a result of unfair pay and benefits. No worker wants to go on strike β€” but the city's refusal to offer a fair contract has led the workers of AFSCME DC 33 to have no other option but to walk off of the job.

These workers make Philadelphia run. They’re our city employees ranging from 911 dispatchers to water department and sanitation workers to school crossing guards. They keep our children safe and our city clean.

These workers are not asking for a lot: an increase in pay, a stronger pension plan, and more support on the job. The city should provide these resources and more to the people who make this city work. And we should make sure that these workers aren’t priced out, providing enough pay and benefits for them to stay in the city.

The city’s most recent offer would increase out-of-pocket healthcare costs, weaken sick leave policies, and raise wages by rates lower than inflation, effectively resulting in a pay cut. That’s not acceptable.

At a time when the city of Philadelphia has just passed a budget that gave tax cuts to the richest corporations in the city, the administration has a moral imperative to provide the workers of the city with decent pay and benefits.

That’s why we stand in solidarity with the workers of AFSCME DC 33. It’s time for the city to provide them with a fair contract and the benefits they deserve.

Signed,

The PA Working Families Party State Committee
