I still think no matter what happens at World's, this year has unquestionably been the "weirdest" year the sport has had in the last 20+ years.

If I do a recap vid, it's probably gonna be almost an hour long LOL. Lot to talk about it seems...

T&F just has a chronic archival problem in general. So many great races, results, etc you just can't access unless you cough up a fee, and only recently have some companies *finally* gotten around to uploading races that should have been accessible for years now.

It's actually insane how much money I've probably spent on Milesplit/Runnerspace/Even FloTrack subscriptions over the last few years. The fact that I have to pay up to $50/60 a month sometimes for a vid just to have access to a few old races/results is tilting beyond belief ngl.

It sucks that outlets like Runnerspace, FloTrack, and LetsRun have all gone of out of their way to show that they're not meant to be taken seriously as trusted media outlets, and that their bizarre biases and lack of journalistic integrity create this further distrust the public has for them.

It really is by every metric one of the weirdest scandals I've come across, not just because of Shelby herself, but the almost unanimous support she's received from the greater running media scene as well.

There's very few vids I'm concerned to read the comments on, but after releasing the Shelby docu, I have no idea what's to come assuming the video picks up some steam lol

I would wager Katie Ledecky is arguably the best endurance-based athlete to ever exist; reasonably better than Jakob frankly speaking.

Not just by medals, but she possesses the top 19/20 marks in the 800m freestyle and 20/20 all-time marks in the 1500m free.

Quite literally unheard of stats haha.

(Basically) Scammed $16k on GoFundMe, used an (at the time) minor's platform to manipulate public perception of her, got multiple local outlets to write fluff pieces for her, and overall continues to spit in the faces of everyone as if they don't know anything about the sport in the first place.

Shelby Houlihan's return to the sport is the most confusing/frustrating thing I've seen in a moment. Not because she's a banned athlete returning to the sport, but because there's so many unethical/immoral things she's done *during* her ban that everyone seems to forget.

Every time the Winter rolls around, I can't help but wish the BU indoor track hosted a mega-elite meet where it's setup for records to be destroyed.

It's objectively the fastest indoor track, and I wish someone like Jakob would just show up and annihilate the indoor 2-mile or 5k records.

Seriously, what athlete has her aerobic engine while simultaneously being capable of outkicking someone like Faith Kipyegon in an Olympic final? She's also comically good in XC too, like the woman has no flaws in her running style atm.

Just made a post on YT, but it still blows my mind how underlooked Beatrice Chebet is... I would argue she's not just the greatest distance runner of the modern era rn, but also might be the most threatening person to touch a track atm.

So in a way, I feel almost compelled to step up and do the talking/research, but it genuinely just feels like it goes to waste every time, and I just get sad/unmotivated until I work on a project I actually enjoy working on again lmao.

I think the other part is that I'm someone who mainly likes to make documentaries/pieces on weird/interesting things in the sport, but I also noticed there's just this giant void what it comes to actual, insightful criticism on parts of the sport that can really use a reality check fwiw.

Same thing happened with my FloTrack vid too tbh. Barely reached a notable audience and had 0 impact/responses from the greater running scene on social media.

Genuinely not sure what it takes at this point to get the right eyes on these messages, but I'm starting to just give up entirely on it ngl

For some reason, my last vid felt very... unfulfilling? Either the algo just didn't like it, or people just really don't care that much about the state of the sport.

I thought about adding a section about Ruth Chepng'etich's marathon record, but I think for focus's sake, I'll just save that for another time.

I think we're in an era right now where more people than ever are trying to grow Track and Field, which is great! However, there seems to be a lot of overthinking/misdirection, and I feel like that's just going to cause more questions than provide any answers down the line.

I think sometime next month I might make a "Future of T&F" mega-essay that goes something like this:

- GST/Athlos and why they're confusing
- Diamond League ranting/fix proposals
- The misunderstanding of Ruth Chepng'etich's Marathon record
- Why World Athletics can't execute a single good idea lol

Hated Twitter's UI and general culture there, so maybe I'll end up using this a bit more? I feel like I also have a lot of pent-up thoughts about Track and Field that I never share so maybe those will end up here too.

Or I just won't post at all, that is also a very viable 2nd choice LMFAO

She grifted >$10k from fans for a legal case she knew she wasn't going to win in the first place and was actively using other platforms to manipulate the public perception of her.

I don't even care that she doped as much as the fact that she basically robbed 5 digits from fans lmao. Kinda wack.
