Totally do it! I class it as portfolio work anyhow, because it's great to show your problem solving skills with technical art and making your workflow more efficient!

thank you! tbh the way I learned Python was through a desire to build an auto-rigging system, then brute forcing the Maya documentation and converting each step-by-step action into a line of code. lots of time spent forgetting to eat in favour of figuring out what I did wrong and retracing my steps🤣

Here is a look at my TMNT Turtlecom, closer look at the map screen. It’s its own basic environment with every element even the text all 3d meshes rendered to look as retro and I could and just slapped in as an image sequence on a plane and part of the model.
