Justice, tempered by Mercy; Anger, tempered by Snark. Amateur Everything. Chronic insomniac. Aggressively progressive. Hopeful cynic. A lie has speed; truth has endurance. If I can't set a good example, then I'll serve as a cautionary tale.

One night in Bangkok makes a hard man humble
Not much between despair and ecstasy
One night in Bangkok and the tough guys tumble
Can't be too careful with your company
I can feel the Devil walking next to me
Just announced: Iceland has urgently moved up its referendum to join the European Union - to 29 August.
A reminder: ๐ฎ๐ธ is in many ways already a non-voting ๐ช๐บ member because of the EEA. This would give them voting power to shape the laws they have to follow.

Lots of great reasons to read, but as a writer, books can offer either Type 1 & Type 2 inspiration.
Type 1: wow! This is amazing. I will spend my life aspiring towards these artistic heights
Type 2: wow! This is rubbish. I can easily do better than this. Maybe being a writer *is* a realistic goal

Feeling small
When tears are in your eyes
I will dry them all
I'm on your side

Hopping in the WayBack machine for this commission! Finished Apollo & Boomer from the OG Battlestar Galactica show last night. I loved this show as a kid. I had fun getting the tans & browns for the uniform. Thanks for looking!

Not following gaming news as closely is really freeing. Now I have to wait until the team is laid off to find out that a game is a huge hit.

This episode about AIDS was called "Killing All the Right People," and originally aired on October 5, 1987.
Context: Ronald Reagan was president, a president who appallingly overlooked the AIDS crisis because he and Nancy had more in common with Imogene Salinger than Julia Sugarbaker.
Meanwhile, here in Florida...

I don't think he was equating the two, or we'd have to also think that of Joseph Stalin and Gandhi. Obviously those two were not similar. It's just names that fit the bill, being cult of personality figures.
I'd say JFK was the closest the USA got to a cult of personality situation before Trump.
Yup, that about sums it up.

I've always enjoyed the ideas behind his plays more than the plays themselves. Not his fault, just a matter of distance. A major exception is A Midsummer Night's Dream. 'Lord, what fools these mortals be!'
10 Things is excellent. Peak example of how to refresh a story w/o losing the main themes.
"The truth is Vanceโs 'war on fraud' is a phantom, a PR effort that will likely uncover no misdeeds that werenโt already known to actual fraud investigators. Vanceโs pretend fight against fraud is the real fraud, and itโs just what we might expect from the most corrupt administration in history."
