Thank you, Ashley, for the interest that you have taken in the struggles of those affected by ME.

With my every good wish as you continue with your treatment, and serve your constituents in West Lancashire.

Humbled and honoured to recently join a South West Ambulance Service crew on shift. I learnt a lot from this dedicated team

In Parliament, I pressed the Health Secretary on the need for more jobs for Paramedic Science graduates. I’lI monitor closely how the situation improves via his workforce plan

I’ve been a proud member of Greenpeace for 50+ years. I was delighted to visit their ship β€˜Witness’ in London last month.
I support Greenpeace’s ambition to protect 30% of the Atlantic Ocean by 2030, transforming coastal renewal here, and demonstrating bold global leadership for ocean protection. πŸ‘πŸΎ

⁩Success! I'm pleased to learn, following the campaigning of many, that First Bus are proposing to put two early evening journeys back on the 174. I'm delighted that First Bus are listening to residents’ concerns and making these changes.

In Shepton Mallet with Anna Sabine MP, Cllr Claire Sully and Somerset Bus Partnership to protest against First Bus’s decision to cut some of the 174 evening service from Wells to Bath. Local people are really worried that this will make it impossible to keep their jobs. First Bus must think again.

Thanks to The Times for highlighting Savannah’s story and the critical issue that there is no specialist NHS service for very severe ME. Grateful to Ashley Dalton for our recent brief call but still waiting for progress report re ME Plan commitment to explore such a service, including treatments.

Quite proud of my β€˜first place’ in the Guests’ Race at Litton Pancake Races in the village hall this morning. To be fair, there were only two of us!
Thank you to Litton villagers for being such good sports, and for raising an amazing Β£220 for Wells’ Food Bank.

Launching 'A Personal Sentence', letters by women with ADHD, brought together powerful lived experiences from neurodiverse women who've been in contact w/ the criminal justice system.

We need to recognise we all learn in different ways, & adapt our systems to give everyone a real chance to succeed

Savannah Victora-May has been in hospital for 11 months with severe ME; a dearth of specialist treatment has contributed to her situation.

The Govt’s Final Delivery Plan committed to exploring a specialised service for very severe ME. *What* is happening to prevent more cases such as Savannah’s?

On World Cancer Day, I’m proud to support work to ensure that everyone with cancer can access the treatment and support they need in a timely way.

I've long wanted that across the NHS, the most up to date Radiotherapy machines are available to all. I’ll continue to press the Government on this.

The United Kingdom is at its best when we’re true to our values: tolerance, decency, respect for individual freedom and the rule of law.

We can't let Nigel Farage throw that all away by turning Britain into Trump’s America.

Choose a brighter future with the Liberal Democrats.

On this Holocaust Memorial Day, we mark 81 years since the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau camp.

I honour the memory of the millions who lost their lives in this atrocity.

May we remember them, work to stop such horrors from being repeated, and build a peaceful, unified and compassionate future.

We desperately need good data to make the case for ME to government. The Big Survey - designed with #pwME for #pwME will be a great help. If you've got ME or ME-like symptoms as part of long Covid, do consider taking part. But, remember that the Big Survey closes tomorrow, Tuesday. πŸ‘πŸΎ

Good to see LibDem leader Ed Davey speaking out so firmly and clearly on President Trump’s behaviour over Greenland. Looking now to see that the government stands firm with our European allies.

The post year has shown that shifting the government to provide a response proportionate to the needs of the 1.35m #pwME is a tough call, but I’m looking forward to working strategically with the group to bring the meaningful change that has been denied us all for too long.

Honoured to be elected as Chair of the APPG ME today. I’m grateful to have @JoPlatt.bsky.social continue to serve as an officer, facilitating continued coordination with the APPG Long COVID, and the support of @actionforme.bsky.social and @meassociation.org.uk through providing the Secretariat.

Deeply concerned at the Israeli government’s threat to shut down vital humanitarian work by 37 international NGOs in Gaza and West Bank. Grateful to @simonforstroud.bsky.social for coordinating this cross-party letter to the Foreign Secretary, and happy to sign.

It's now clear that this was never about the interests of the Venezuelan people or the wider world. This is Trump serving his own interests and ego, making the world far more dangerous in the process. Starmer must convene the UN Security Council to hold Trump to account.

Keir Starmer should condemn Trump’s illegal action in Venezuela.

Maduro is a brutal and illegitimate dictator, but unlawful attacks like this make us all less safe.

Trump is giving a green light to the likes of Putin and Xi to attack other countries with impunity.

I’ve been proud to stand with Somerset farmers to protest against the family farm tax.

Today’s announcement that the threshold will be raised from Β£1m to Β£2.5m is welcome progress. But the tax must still be scrapped. With LibDem colleagues I’ll continue to fight for this.

Some facts… the 72 LibDems are 11% of MPs but…

πŸ‘‰πŸΎ Have asked 43% PQs on ME
πŸ‘‰πŸΎ Constitute 23% of MPs in the APPG ME
πŸ‘‰πŸΎ ALL signed a letter to Wes Streeting
πŸ‘‰πŸΎ Secured the only debate on ME in this Parliament.

We were consistently there for #pwME.

Thanks #ThereForME for this acknowledgement.

The decades long neglect of #pwME is a great injustice and we are all poorer for it. I’m proud to be one of the 72 LibDem MPs who have fought to address this. And I know that I’m not alone in committing to continuing the fight to see real change in 2026.

My reflections after today’s APPG ME meeting….

β€˜As we look to 2026, it’s clear that there’s plenty that needs MPs’ engagement. Across the ME community there’s so much shared lived experience and analysis to inform the work that we do. So, let’s get on with it! Let’s all work together next year!
