My BIRN Fellowship story is out, shunning light on the inequalities between rural and urban areas in accessing water. Towns monopolise water while villagers dig ever-deeper wells, in a race to the bottom that portends Europe’s hotter future.

2/3 of Europe's drinking water comes from the ground. Some poorer or less politically affluent communities are already losing access to this reserve. But we should all pay attention to what's happening, because aquifers are slow to recover, and our future reserves are on the line.
