Either way, the text means very little if they don't follow thru on the actions they've outlined. That is ultimately what will be important to anyone.

It says they want to get the wording right about the plan they will (hopefully) follow to resolve an issue they should never have allowed to come to fruition. I'm no AI fan, but with their monumental screw-up, I can't blame them for trying to get it right going forward.

I think they are learning more as they go about how much they screwed up. I'd bet they started drafting the response after the initial uproar of those two cards. Others started to chime in afterwards about other problem cards but they were already rolling to reply.

True, but I'm also sure Devir is in a far less secure financial position to take chances pissing off their fan base that CGE.

Cynically speaking, I'm sure this response was something they minimally considered necessary. They aren't making money off evergreen titles or have a huge IP to lean on. They can't afford to ignore outrage from a portion of their fan base.

Good to see Devir step up and take accountability for their mistake, even if the solution will be costly for them. CGE- take note.

However The Dice Tower has removed their Ace of Spades review video entirely. It is odd that in 2025 we must explain taking no political position often is a position.

I think the initial call-out started with two cards then others began pointing out a few other disturbing cards. They may not have followed the viral growth spread that far before moving to draft their statement. I do look forward to seeing how many cards they end up replacing as part of their plan.

They do say they will also review other problem cards. I'm not saying it's perfect, but no company is gonna admit "yeah, we're racist, sorry we let it slip." Taking steps to address and fix what they have done is what we should want and expect. Plus, recalling product is costly, it hurts them.
