MLA aiming to tackle 'deepfake' abuse with plans to amend legislation over sexually explicit AI images Alliance Party MLA Kate Nicholl has announced plans to make it illegal to create or use technology for non-consensual, sexually explicit AI-generated images in Northern Ireland.

"If we’re serious about ending VAWG, then we need to be serious about how this technology is being misused. Our law has to keep pace with reality; it’s the non-consensual creation of sexual images. That is abuse."
