What stood out to me today is that good people are showing up. They're at provincial tables and at community league meetings. And when we work together, that’s when real change happens and we make positive changes in our schools and our communities.

Those two conversations might seem worlds apart, but they’re deeply connected. Big-system advocacy & local community concerns are both essential pieces of the same work. Thanks to everyone who made them possible & participated. It takes work to make room at your table. I'm thrilled to be invited.

This evening, I met with the Edgemont Community League alongside parents, community members, and several elected officials to discuss very immediate concerns as fundamental as crossing the street safely near their future school site.

Today offered a powerful contrast in the work of a school board trustee.

This morning: the ASBA FGM, where trustees from across AB debated & voted on advocacy positions that will guide our collective efforts at the provincial level. These decisions help shape the long-term direction of public ed.

My life for the last few months:
"Oh you're Sarah Doll!? I've seen your signs!"

The voters sent a clear message. It’s time to shake things up and bring some new energy into this role. It’s time to dig in and see what we can improve now, while we all fight the bigger fight together. So let’s get to work!

Thank you to everyone who put their name forward in this election that wanted to fight for our schools. I will do everything I can to live up to this responsibility. Congrats to my fellow trustees. I’m excited to get to work alongside you & keep students at the center of everything we do.

To the disability community who have advocated alongside me for many years, you need to know: things are going to change. And I won't be doing it alone. Not only myself, but 4 other parents with lived experience of disability were elected. We not only have a seat at the table - we are a majority.

I also believe in accountability. I’m not here to pass the buck. I’m here to do the work, push for change where we can, & help you understand when we can’t, so we can do it together. The battle ahead of us to save public education falls on everyone's shoulders. I'm ready to help lead that fight.

Everyone who cares about what’s best for kids has a seat at my table. I’m ready to listen, ready to collaborate, and
do this work together. My campaign reached over 30k Ward E doors and your thoughts, worries, ideas, and passion will factor into every decision I make. Please keep sharing with me.

I took clear stances on controversial topics because our equity-deserving students need representation who won’t dance around the hard stuff. I’m here to fight for strong, fully inclusive, public schools and to bring our community together while doing it.

I ran as the kind of trustee I wanted to see, as a parent of EPSB students who’s tired of the status quo. I didn’t try to fit the typical "politician" mold. I showed up as myself, sometimes serious, sometimes silly, but always real and open about what matters to me.

We did it, Ward E!
