I’m pretty astonished Badenoch and Farage both decided to get lockstep behind Trump as he walks off a cliff.

That Trump repeats calls for Iran's unconditional surrender on same day he's got the defence industrial chiefs round for an emergency meeting on military supplies perfectly sums up his grasp of ends & means.

I heard Hegseth say that there's no shortage of weapons to bomb Iran with. At that point i knew, there is a shortage of weapons.

When oil prices drop we're told there's a delay in passing that on at the petrol pump because it takes time to filter through. Weird how there's no delay when prices go up.

It gets funnier. This is how he pitched the plan.

I love watching people use LLMs in public. They’ll reply to a breaking news article and say β€œ@grok is this true?” Babe where do you think it’s about to pull its answer from

UK high streets turn to facial recognition in fight against shoplifting Theft and threats against shop floor workers have risen sharply since the Covid-19 pandemic

Parliament should take steps to ban this technology. There is no good and proportional reason to allow private companies to analyse and store people's biometric data, especially without notice or consent.

The article says that shops spent Β£1bn last year on facial recognition, which can be beaten with a cheap hat & mask. Imagine if they spent Β£1bn on security guards! That would put a stop to theft, tho shops will feel like prisons which is exactly why they don't want us to realise they're spying on us

As the article indicates, one of the companies involved is NZ’s Auror. Worth searching online for issues it has caused here, and sloppy data sharing with police. Enabled by weak approach of the NZ Privacy Commissioner.

It will also enable price gouging:

He’s not doing a lot to counter stereotypes about the intelligence of people with names like Markwayne

26.02.2026 18:10 β€” πŸ‘ 10    πŸ” 3    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 2

You can't expect a man called Markwayne to tell the difference between one guy called Khomeini and another called Khamenei.

I know that the people who need to read this aren’t here, but here goes:

Rules of engagement aren’t for the enemy. They’re for you. They’re for your soldiers when they’re captured or wounded. They’re for your civilians when they’re in range of the enemy. They’re for your allies, to reassure.

I heard someone say "land of contrasts" on TV the other day. I remember my geography teacher, unfortunately for me named Mr Dybal, tell kids off for calling places a "land of contrasts" as it was hackneyed then.

That how look what we could have had when you see how well Norway handled things and how badly the Tories screwed us over, really makes me quite cross.

I must apologise for Richard Stupid Tice not understanding that no gas or oil is β€˜our own’ because Maggie Thatcher sold it off, so it is all sold by private companies on the global market. Norway did not sell theirs off and now have a sovereign wealth fund of Β£1.6trillion.

The guy who was president 34 years ago is younger than the current president. That is an insane trend.

I don't like to gratuitously slag off the Littoral Combat Ships*, but this is basically the concept they were designed for.

I mean, good luck persuading anybody it's a highly sinkable concept they want to be aboard at the time, but...

*You read that right. I don't like it. I love it.

TV shows should be required to have an #ad logo in the corner of shows like "Battle of the Brands", which is currently on @channel4tv.bsky.social. It's just a very very long advert for Nandos and KFC, complete with lots of excerpts from actual adverts for the products.

I can't imagine you're wrong about this. I for one want us nowhere near this particular shit show. I can't help but suspect people like Farage are in support Trump's ill-conceived war because they get a lot of funding from those in Trump's circle. He has no interest in British national interests.

Am sticking with my bet that the right is reading this wrong and that the majority of voters are not at all unhappy Starmer has upset Trump by holding back from a war whose purpose and end game no-one seems able to define.

It's so weird that Trump can be so rich and powerful and yet still the biggest loser in any room he enters. Why is he so obsessed with Khan that he needs to bring him up all the time and make up lies? Trump is such a pathetic man.

Worth listening to The Rest is Entertainment this week on Dubai influencers. Key point: UAE government pays people to move to Dubai to be influencers and promote a particular image of the place - luxury & safety. People paid to leave a liberal democracy & 'shill' for an autocratic socialist state.
