Thanks. It's just started working again for me. Maybe it was a temporary error they fixed, or maybe my computer was just grumpy at being woken up.

09.10.2025 08:37 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0We had to commission a special bat survey which cost c.Β£400 (but might have easily been Β£1K) as a condition of planning permission to demolish a conservatory. It was the most insane & pointless piece of bureaucracy. So stupid, in fact, that the ecologist first wrote about our loft in error...

Family in this episode spent Β£6500 & were delayed in building their house as a bat might be in the roof of the old house. Turned out the was no bat! How can you stop building for a bat let alone an imaginary one.

If you're going to BS then just go for it.
Yes, the news also mentioned that judgment but I can't say I've read it.
08.10.2025 18:13 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Full text of the letter: Dear friends, Our country is at a crossroads. The Conservative Party under Kemi Badenoch is becoming more extreme and out of touch, chasing Nigel Farage instead of focusing on the issues that really matter to people. Meanwhile, Reform UK is growing in strength - threatening the tolerant, decent values that hold our communities together. I know many One Nation Conservatives are deeply concerned about the lurch to the hard right in our country and under Kemi Badenochβs leadership. Her plans to tear up the Climate Change Act and withdraw from the ECHR show she is abandoning traditional British values of tolerance, decency and the rule of law. So my message to the millions of One Nation Conservatives who feel let down by their party and reject the divisive politics of Badenoch and Farage is to come and join us. Help us save our country and defend the values we all hold dear. We will stand strong where others back down. We will not pander to Reform. We will fight to protect our environment, stand up for decency and the rule of law, and stop Trumpβs America from becoming Farageβs Britain. So if you share those values, now is the time to join the Liberal Democrats. With best wishes, Ed Davey
Liberal Democrat Leader Ed Davey has written an open letter to One Nation Conservatives who feel abandoned by their party urging them to join the Liberal Democrats, following Kemi Badenochβs conference speech today
08.10.2025 12:53 β π 107 π 35 π¬ 3 π 5Iβm gonna defend Liz Truss, because I like to be blocked by two or so people every day, and say that her plans were 100 times more reasonable than these, in that she thought she would have enough time to bounce Tory MPs into backing spending cuts. Much less daft than anything Badenoch has said.

I can currently hear two other solicitors consultations with their clients as they are being held in public waiting areas because there is no where else to go. Imagine if you went to the doctor and you had to discuss your problems in the waiting room!

Yes, their job is to challenge you. The fact Jenrick dislikes it so much says a lot about the quality of his argument.
This is a lie.
There are many criticisms you might sensibly and truthfully make of the Sentencing Council and the Sentencing Guidelines. Iβve been making them for years.
But this is an outright lie. Pure fabrication. A fraud on the public.
One of the most frustrating things about magistrates courts is the way every interview room has been turned into an office. I'm at Uxbridge and can only find two rooms for all 4 courts. Needless to say they are all busy & there's nowhere private for me to speak with my client.
