Very much finding CadQuery to be in the "doing things not because they're easy, but because I thought they would be" camp. It's taking some very inside-out thinking compared to how build do this in direct modelling.

First time using Neopixels

The internals of the original clock were interesting – a single IC handled everything.

Been working on a clock project inspired by the LED patterns of the Thinking Machines Corporation CM-5 supercomputer, all built into the case of a 70s digital clock

Yeah getting a workable solution to that would be the dream. Figuring out the timing requirements always trips me up on these sorts of projects.
