I wanted to jump on here to give thanks to Sweetwater for being so kind as to send me these cases after the fires. It’s the little and less sexy things like drum cases that make the overall loss feel so dizzying. This is an incredibly kind gesture and one that will never go unappreciated. -GG

To meet fans and friends and to break the rhythm of a typical tour day and remind myself how rad music is by visiting the spot in town that serves as the portal to all the musical universes.

just like we did this run at a few record store stops. People would share stories, pictures, favorite songs (this time someone even shared their incredible drawing of me). Anyway, I’m rambling. I just wanted to share how meaningful these moments are to me...

And we’d inevitably find some out-of-print must have or a rare box set or some talked about new release that we needed to somehow cram into our already overfilled luggage.

And then we’d do a signing and meet everyone after…

Back in the day of the van tours, we would do promo runs where we’d just hit radio stations in the morning and record stores in the afternoons. It was always such a beautiful way to get to know a local music community - the fans, the purveyors, the local bands...

Who’s heard it? What do we think?

I’m hoping that it’s a testament to the song that it seems to mean so much more now. It’s a song about the deepest depressions - the ones that feel impossible to climb out of, the ones that are so bad that you can’t even trace its causes.

Writing and recording tunes with your closest friends is always the most fun part of the job. And even though the lyric feels like it was written in just these last few months, it was actually put together over a year ago. (In fact, this is the last recording that features Wylie and Lee!)
