Decided to write about one of my favourite novels - and a 90s SF classic - for @nerdsofafeather.bsky.social this month.

China Mountain Zhang is a prescient, brilliantly drawn collage of a China-dominated future from the perspective of people living that future at ground level.

A covid question.

My husband got covid from my daughter and tested positive on Friday last week. He's symptom-free now but is still testing strongly positive.

Is he still contagious?

I'm assuming he is and he's quarantining in our spare bedroom.

It’s so odd. I feel embarrassed/ashamed seeing how poorly he functions, but he seems oblivious.
He did look uncomfortable yesterday - even before Henry’s question his voice was all thick as if he had a dry mouth. And his whole “look, I don’t know how I can be any clearer“ schtick wasn’t convincing.

Great to see this, and see some of the experts from NZ who were critical in correcting outdated advice represented.
Also noting it was often vulnerable communities/ those with early experience of Long Covid who were early adopters and pushed these comms online too, consistently ahead of governments.

Being able to lie unblushingly is his one true talent.

Excellent question. You cut right through the script he was running.

He is sooooo out of his depth.
This is just inane blather, words falling out of his face to make himself feel/look good. So when Henry follows up as if the words actually mean things and have implications, he completely glitches.
