Defense has tightened up plus UConn is struggling. The window remains open but Illinois just won’t take advantage.

Illini may have missed their moment. Got a couple friendly calls, missed b2b free throws, several offensive fouls and somehow still head to halftime with less momentum than UConn.

Great effort by Z this stretch. And not a pretty turnover by Mirkovic but making his presence known.

At some point you got to play the brothers together. I don’t see a downside in trying it now.

Under 16 timeout - Mirkovic been the best Illini on the floor. UConn can’t miss - left rim seems very soft. Refs letting them play - Right before timeout they missed a Boswell illegal screen.

Feel like that should have been continuation.

Alejandro Kirk takes a hack for the fences. He looks beautiful

I know a lot of people talk about "Ken Griffey's swing", "John Olerud's swing" but for my money there is nothing more beautiful than Alejandro Kirk:

- 5'7 and built like a Welsh corgi
- basically drops halfway into a splits on each swing
- each swing is a Street Fighter "Shooooryuken" uppercut

A little wild that the Jays did *that* last night without Vladdy having that large of an impact*.

*Not saying he didn’t have a great game. And also I believe a huge part of last night was Snell having to throw 35 pitches in the first with Vlad working a walk there.

#BlueJays are a really fun watch. Got Springer hitting all-timer homers on a bum knee. Bichette playing a position for the first time and making a key defensive play coming back from his injury. And Kirk early front runner for WS MVP looking all… Kirk-like.

Possible Clement took that risk cuz he wasn’t very confident in Mr Schneiders “dangerous” #2 hitter…
