A new choice for parents in east Belfast - an Integrated school and nursery which teaches through the medium of Irish.

Looking forward to welcoming parents to our open morning today between 10 and 12.

The Education Authority portal for Pre-school applications opens this Friday, 10th January. Link below.

From September, our Naíscoil will offer daily 4 hour sessions, 8.45am - 12.45pm, with school meals available, on Montgomery Road in east Belfast.

It’s an exciting time for Scoil na Seolta, the first Integrated School to teach through the medium of Irish, as our nursery school children get ready for the move to our new site later this month. Tá muid ar bís!

All of these things have taken their toll on my own well being this year but have also brought out the best in other people who have been keen to show their support.
I’m looking forward to 2025 and I’m very aware that there will be challenges but there will also be great rewards.

During this time my son was extremely ill and there were many nights without sleep. Added to this was a campaign of misinformation and false accusations directed against my work, a fake letter, and a libellous article, which is presently in the hands of a solicitor.

I’m glad to see the back of 2024 as it’s been a difficult one. It was a year when I had to combine my job as manager of the Turas project with finishing the last semester of my degree in Irish and taking over management of our Naíscoil for a few months due to staff illness. 🧵1/3

The same dangerous attitudes exist today, 26 years after the GFA. Those who incite others by the spread of misinformation, by encouraging hatred and intolerance are responsible if their words result in violence. Their hands are not clean.

Watching Say Nothing and remembering 3 women murdered in the Troubles, Jean Mc Conville, Margaret Wright and Anne-Marie Smyth (there were many more). Murdered by people who believed they were fighting for Ireland or Ulster, extremists who were blinded by bitterness and hate.
