#WritingTip: Thinking about audience is important but sometimes it stops writers from getting words on the page. Try not to worry too much about the reader when you draft. Focus on developing your thinking and clarifying your argument. Then, work on creating a reader-based structure when you revise.

#WritingTip: Sometimes it can be helpful to step away from the screen and do something more tactile. For instance, write out your key points on index cards and test out different structures, draft a paragraph longhand to slow yourself down, or print a draft and annotate it to plan for revision.
