A8: My why is to promote the love of reading. By coming into the new school year with a ton of recs, Ss see that it's not just "my job" but my LOVE of books, something I want to pass on to them. My why is to provide Ss with books that they can relate to, that they see themselves in #TLSkyChat

A7: with summer reading, offer them choices, it's all about Student Voice & Choice. They are tired of the usual book report.
By creating the "If You Like" book recs, it helps students branch off from what they already like/know, introducing them to new authors. #TLSkyChat

A6: hmmm, good question. Definitely balance, especially when we start back at school & I have a stack of recs ready to book talk during orientation. If just one student grabs one of the books I booktalk, I consider that a WIN! #TLSkyChat

I love Rex. He's is so amazing. He may come to our Graphic Novel week next year. He's super generous and just so open about his life. I have boys devouring his books. He's been on a few panels I have moderated & I am always awestruck by him #TLSkyChat

A1: The characters, or rather the story line from Nikki Erlick's, The Measure. Makes you really think about opening up that Pandora's Box. As much as I would WANT TO, I am learning to say NO more. No more assistant, so I am going to have to say no a lot in the fall. #TLSkyChat

A3: reading with quiet music in the background. The lofi playlists on Spotify are so calming. I also want to ramp up my audiobook time. Love just crashing on a chair/couch and reading away! #TLSkyChat

@hebron_hs student creativity has been off the charts as we celebrate #schoollibrarymonth I got this idea from a fellow librarian on Facebook. It's a collaborative mosaic, made with sharpie paint markers and wooden puzzle pieces I purchased on Amazon. It's all about sharing their love of reading.
