one grandma was a housewife until her kids were grown, at which point she opened a women's clothing shop in her small town, until Walmart arrived and ran them out of business. The other grandma was a nurse.

my other grandpa (a nice man, but I didn't know him well and by all accounts he wasn't a great father to my dad) ran a gas station except during WWII when he was an air traffic controller in Fairbanks, Alaska. My grandma used to drive a dogsled to get groceries.

Michael B. Jordan holding two Actor Awards

I didn't realize everyone who won for the ensemble cast got one and briefly thought they gave him two for winning Best Actor as a bit

A League of Their Own and KAOS are my main recent ones. FYI KAOS doesn’t have a lot of violence/gore in terms of screen time, but it does have a few pretty intense moments of violence/gore and they aren’t always telegraphed ahead of time. Also it has animal harm. Happy to give more details if wanted

In my utopian vision of the future, instead of offloading all the pointless, annoying work tasks (like reports that none one will read and needlessly opaque forms) to robots, we restructure work and society so that the pointless tasks don't happen at all.

4-panel comic. (1) [Person with white hat talking to another person.] PERSON 1 with white hat: As Sherlock Holmes said, When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth. (2) PERSON 2: What about the possibility that you forgot to eliminate a possibility? Or that you eliminated one incorrectly? Both of those remain, too. (3) PERSON 1: You’re being pedantic. It’s just a general rule for deduction. PERSON 2: But it’s a *bad rule*. (4) PERSON 2: How often have you thought, β€œI can’t find this thing, and I’ve searched the whole house. The only place I haven’t looked is the car, so it *must* be there.” PERSON 2: ...And then it’s never in the car. PERSON 1: *It’s never in the car!*

Hee hee we are opposites (mangos are among my very favourite, blackberries are OK but weirdly sometimes taste a bit soapy to me β€” I don’t have the coriander soap thing). Though to be fair there is no fruit that I truly dislike

I have been on the reverse journey, because I have never had a good peach in Leeds but strawberries here are so nice. I realised last year that strawberries had completely replaced peaches and nectarines as my go-to delicious summer fruit
