March 11 marks the 15th anniversary of the 3rd-largest seismic event ever recorded, the magnitude 9.1 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami. Recovery from this devastating event is still ongoing. Research into ways to make our society more resilient to nature's unpredictability continues.

The Lloyd Center should have been torn down 5-10 years ago and replaced with housing then. We could have saved that congressional seat by 2030! #pdx

I'm pretty sure that poster is Australian. I wish there was a "REDCOAT" labeler for UK and AU based accounts that post a lot about US politics.

That article is behind a paywall, but based on what other people have said, its not "there was this one time I had an item in my cart I forgot to scan and I just left instead of going back to pay for it" but rather people who planned ahead to steal stuff and rationalized it later.

Maybe the writer needs to find better people to hang out with? *If* any of my friends do steal from luxury stores for some reason, they at least have a sense of shame not to say so.

This is why I'm a big fan of slogans like "Nuremberg 2.0." My whole life I have seen Trump get away with awful things and it's because he's been enabled by people seeing him as a "useful idiot" until they get stabbed in the back. It's like an MLM, you gotta bring justice to them all to stop this.

She was an absolute legend. Before her husband died, she worked for his company. He died of mysterious circumstances (maybe yellow fever?) off the coast of Florida.
Last year I went to Key West to find where he was buried. The cemetery had his burial record, but no location of his grave.

My 2nd-great-grandfather's sister made money in shipping in NYC in the late 1800s. She had no children, so she used her $ to establish 3 scholarships for students at a women's college in NJ and funded women's suffrage groups at the state level in Washington and Colorado. So I'd do stuff like that.

You're not wrong on pinning a lot to Joe Rogan, but my main villain for all of this plus why my art supplies are $$$$ is Reality TV. Trump's The Apprentice came from that. Joe Rogan's Fear Factor came from that. They used the platform of reality TV to ruin everything for the rest of us.
