When the opportunity to purchase Leale’s Yard was presented to the former P&R of which I was a Member we had no hesitation in pursuing it. I think the deal announced today represents good VFM & importantly unlocks the site for development after many years of unsuccessful attempts to progress #govgg

I am confident that where there’s a will there’s a way and so long as we focus not on personalities or ideologies we can produce a ‘government of all the talents’ where each member can play to his or her strengths.

The real work starts now seeking to form a new government which can draw a line under past divisions and behaviours and help focus on the many opportunities which are open to us as well as the challenges of which we are aware.

Also even to those who didn’t support me I continue to pledge to do my best for our whole community here in the Bailiwick in whatever rôle I get given.

Very constructive meeting with Nick Thomas-Symonds, Cabinet Officer Minister with responsibility for EU relations & Paymaster General. Nick is a good friend to Guernsey & has visited regularly since his youth

Dr Neil Shastri-Hurst is a member of the Commons Justice Committee which takes a particular interest in scrutinising the UK government’s responsibilities and relationship with Guernsey & the other Crown Dependencies.

HE Miguel Berger, German Ambassador to the UK took particular interest in our business links with Germany, our historic relationship with the town of Biberach and how tourism might be enhanced
