Past that, there are some injuries and illnesses that healing magicks just can't fix. If it's some kind of thing the body can not naturally heal over time from, healing magick won't do anything to help with that either. Like chronic illnesses and such. Medicines and surgery still exist in the world

Well we already know what healing magicks are in FF14. It's just bolstering and increasing the bodies natural healing process. Aether isn't poured in to replace aether. Aether is applied to supercharge the bodies natural healing process while in combat.
