As Denialism Grows, Look to Our History of Coming Together | The Tyee
We can choose which traditions to uphold. Here’s my choice.
“There is a growing chorus of voices telling Canadians that reconciliation is impossible. They craft a narrative of winners and losers… Yet there is another story. There is another tradition of coming together.”

The premier's criticism of Smith's pipeline idea is undercut by his own governments massive subsidization of and sweetheart deals for LNG pipelines and terminals.
Fossil fuel subsidies and environment-wrecking projects are bad and shouldn't be part of our future, period. #bcpoli

In cities, street space is a really scarce (and under-valued) commodity. Increasing vehicle size costs everyone.
And vehicle weight determines your impact on the wear-and-tear of cities.
So this kind of public policy is really just common sense.

You might think that the mayor of Yellowknife, the capital of Canada's vast Northwest Territories, would be a fan of giant pickups.
Nope. He's disgusted by car bloat.

How a Zoomer Became Leader of the BC Green Party | The Tyee
Inside the campaign that scored a victory for 25-year-old Emily Lowan.
“It was a lightning rod of hope. We brought in thousands of new members to this party, many of whom were completely disillusioned with politics.”
Emily Lowan’s victory is a sign that the climate movement still has the energy to capture voters. Hugh Chan writes. #bcpoli

While it's great to see the @kamloops.ca offer free transit on the #18 route, unless people are only going from downtown, it's not free for anyone else. People will still need to pay to get from their home stop to connect to the #18.

This government has sacrificed climate, air and water quality, ecosystem integrity, and Indigenous title and rights considerations to push LNG projects forward.
The Premier needs to get real about LNG flaring, and include it in emissions reporting and environmental assessments.

Canadian natgas producers cut output amid record low prices

This week, the price of natural gas in Western Canada turned negative. That is, BELOW ZERO! It hit a record low of -18cents / BTU. Yet Carney, Smith, Moe, Kinew want to build natural gas pipelines to nowhere. There is a glut of gas and no demand. #EnergyTransition

Premier David Eby is doing his best Christy Clark impression with this #UBCM speech. When I showed up to #bcpoli in 2013 the @bcndpcaucus.bsky.social was shocked and appalled by the BC Liberal rhetoric and policy they are now rolling out as their own.
I am in the twilight zone!
