USAJOBS, the fed governments job listings and main hiring portal has been advertising ICE 1801 job series (I think these are mostly deportation agents) with the job title "Homeland Defender." Casting a wide net to hire the dumbest people.

You might even get a retention bonus by holding that fort, I don't know if it's fed wide in the Bay area, but I know some agencies started experimenting with 5 yr. bonuses, with magical thinking that 5 yrs. would also give the prospect time to set roots in the area and not want to leave.

As far as Fed Agent vs. California Cop pay, task forces that allow California Peace Officers to go on surveillance with Feds in the same vehicle or enclosed space should be illegal. The laughter once pay scales are brought up burns through oxygen to a fatal degree, leading to mass casualties.

Civil Service salaries have a cap in some relation to Congressional pay, I think, so they're even more tied together as an issue.

Given the timing of the episode's relationship to that era's American military adventurism and inconsistent proxy support, I always thought the origin of the Bajorans was the Kurds, the Federation's presence being much more analogous to the no fly zone demarcations.

While the theft allegation is common, how do the B5 people square the fact that the Bajorans/Maquis situations was laid out in TNG episode arcs beginning with "Ensign Ro" over two years prior to B5's premier? Were there writers' room defections w/ Paramount moving faster than Warner Brothers? 1/
