Found another bit of synchronicity - annoyingly *after* writing that piece: Lou Reed in 1986 interview with Bill Flanagan talking about his 'My Friend George':
"When I'm writing I make up a person who's like a composite of 8 people [...] There is no George [...] It's just a combination of things"
Sadly, I don't think so. At least I wasn't able to find one.
