The Wrekin photographed from the grounds of Attingham Park, Atcham, Shropshire, UK. The Wrekin is a hill located some five miles (8 km) west of Telford rising above the Shropshire Plain to a height of 407 metres (1,335 ft) above sea level. It is a prominent and well-known landmark, signalling the entrance to Shropshire for travellers westbound on the M54 motorway. It features in a well known local saying, ‘All around the Wrekin’, often used in reference to someone who talks around the point of a matter or takes an unnecessarily long route on a journey.
