As I've just said to someone else, I'm possibly naive, hopeful and genuinely worried all at the same time.

I'm possibly being naive, but I've got friends in the states who are hugely embarrassed by the goings on. I suppose I'm hopeful as the alternative doesn't bear thinking about.
