Macaria speaks softly, eyes on the stillness around them.

"Silence can be kind… like the quiet the dead find. Not an ending, just a place where nothing hurts for a while."

A small breath.

"You’re allowed to rest in that kind of quiet, too."

Macaria’s expression softens. She shifts just slightly, enough to be close without crowding.

"It’s alright… you don’t have to talk."

Her voice stays low, warm.

"I’ll stay with you. If you'd like me too"

Macaria watches her quietly, a soft stillness settling around them both.

She steps closer, careful not to disturb whatever fragile state this is.

Existing… she understands that.

A gentle nod.

Macaria sits beside her, sharing the silence without asking anything more.

“What… happened to me?”

The new night holds no answer.
Only silence.

And the faint, lingering scent of a river she can no longer name.

She turns her head slowly, taking in jagged stone, deep shadow, an air that hums with something ancient.

“Where… is this?”

The question echoes softly, as if she’s asking the world to remember for her.
Or asking herself.

She takes a single step forward.
Then another.

“…ah.”

Her eyes flutter open to a darkness she doesn’t recognize. Not the warm, familiar night of home but something colder, sharper, new.

Water drips from her lashes as she pushes herself upright, breath trembling
