You can, but it's slow, and you want to chase before your opponent gets their assist back. Your opponent getting their assist back means they get to neutral skip again and that's worse. But backdash spamming guarantees you waste at least 2-5 seconds needed to recover your assist.

Yo, 2XKO community. Stop giving me combos using fury, point blank 5Hs combo starters, or 4+ bars of meter. Of course, they're gonna do damage, but it's not common scenarios.

I want more tipper 5M or overheard starter combos that do at least half health and/or use 1 meter or less.

Give me combos that set me up with incredible Oki situations. That's what I want.
