During August Recess, Republicans Urged by Party Hacks to Keep on Lying, Cheating, and Spinning on Farmers and Estate Tax. Nearly all farmers are exempt from the estate tax. But Republicans won't let the facts get in the way of a bs talking point as they "draw a contrast" with Democrats during Congress's August recess.

During the August recess, Republicans told voters that the estate tax threatens 2M family farms. Truth: Only 0.2%—wealthy mega-farms—are affected.

Small rural stations like Appalachia’s community-focused ‘possum radio’ among the hardest-hit by public media cuts Congress has clawed back $1.1 billion as part of an effort to end taxpayer funding of PBS and NPR. Among those impacted are Allegheny Mountain Radio and WMMT, which offer local news, eclectic playl…

Public broadcasting cuts hurt @pbs.org & @npr.org. They also hurt rural stations like "possum radio” in KY & Allegheny Mountain Radio. The beautiful part? They are relied on & loved by folks tuning in, so they're hopeful that w/ their community, they'll get through it. Rural resilience, everybody.

Making sure that everybody gets fed is a core value of rural communities. This administration could learn from folks like our Community Works volunteers. They collaborate w/ churches, local food banks, & community gardens to help them collect & distribute food to feed their neighbors.
