To write in a genre, it helps to have read a lot of recent novels in the same genre. The world is filled with people hoping to write a children's book, who haven't read one in decades, or people who think "romance sells", who haven't read any modern romance novels.

We have a reading room full of books and refreshments for all to use, and a craft room for quiet time 🧘‍♀️

We curate our books to reflect our values and our commitment to own-voices, diversity-led publishing, and independent presses.

The bookshop is a space to read, gather, rest, explore, play, and exist as you are. Your needs, state of mind or experiences will not be assumed here 💝

Run by 3 pals (Erin, Hunter, and Jay), we opened in October 2022!
Since then we have:
📚 more than tripled our stock
🎤 hosted over 100 events
🤩 welcomed authors including Alison Rumfitt, Natalie Bennett, Kerry Andrew, Zoe Gilbert, and Ione Gamble
