No kidding. We got dinged for scheduling a few travelers close to their travel date instead of within 28 days of when the consult was placed!

I had to get through a couple lectures first, but I finally finished Theodore Rex. It was much more of a blow-by-blow of his Presidency than a portrait of the man that Rise Of Roosevelt was, but it was still fascinating. I have to take a break but will finish the trilogy with Colonel Roosevelt.

If our main target is not associated with HO-CDI, it further brings into question whether this is a useful metric at all

Listened to a talk about using it for letters of recommendation and it seemed like by the time you got the prompt good enough to make a letter you could have already written it yourself.

Do you think attendance will send any strong messages to the front office? Can’t sat I’m excited to spend any money to watch the Kickers be uncompetitive.

I have no interest in being the gatekeeper of this, but providers should not be able to order a multiplex PCR panel unless they have some semblance of how to interpret the results.

People just have to touch the stove, unfortunately.

I hope that also got them an automatic kick in the nuts

Would not want this to be my league’s national display of refereeing

That’s an interesting study bc I usually make that switch to drop ABC for the possible cardiac risk, not really for weight (it’s BIC/FTC/TAF to DTG/3TC for that). It would be nice if this study has an ongoing follow-up period to see if there is a lower risk of cardiac events with the switch.

Stable bloodstream infection rates despite rising colonization: insights from a hospital system using in-house polymerase chain reaction screening for Candidozyma auris | Antimicrobial Stewardship & Healthcare Epidemiology | Cambridge Core Stable bloodstream infection rates despite rising colonization: insights from a hospital system using in-house polymerase chain reaction screening for Candidozyma auris - Volume 5 Issue 1

From @drrossanarosa.bsky.social et al: Using in-house PCR for C auris screen, we observed ⬆️ rates of new colonization POA but have maintained stable rates of C. auris hospital-onset BSI. This suggests rapid ID and isolation can mitigate horizontal transmission of C. auris. doi.org/10.1017/ash....

From a VA perspective, the cytology is fairly easy to get (when the patient is agreeable), but the HRA is extremely difficult to get even on higher-grade abnormalities bc there are very few physicians who do that.

Do you think this makes him GK1 at least until the Kickers are eliminated from playoff contention?

That makes sense to me. I always tell learners that I think the improved outcomes with ID consultation is purely about approaching SAB systematically (and also being obsessed with not overlooking deep foci)

It was a pleasure to work on this project with our ID pharmacist colleagues. AI has a lot of potential in this space, especially with the basic interpretation of data, but still needs human guidance to work through the complexities of patient management. Looking forward to doing more of this!

I was actually just pondering why there doesn’t seem to be much action for League One as a loan destination (or maybe that’s just a Kickers thing). It seems like a good option for a cash-strapped team.

No, not yet! I wanted to get closer to my book goal before starting another 900 page book. It’s one of my next books in the coming months.

I can live with 2 points out of 3 very different road games, but their defense keeps putting them in a hole. That has to change or it will be a long rest of the season.

Had a surgeon bring up SC administration once, but I have never done it. It seems like it would not be comfortable for extended therapy, but who knows.

I just mean that the same person is usually drawing both cultures so even if it’s a clean stick, if you’re in a hurry for one, you’re in a hurry for both. I see my fair share of dual positives with absolutely no risk factors for a true CONS bacteremia. It’s all about the assessment, not the sets.

26.04.2025 01:33 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I have always thought one CONS is a contaminant, 2 is probably real to be a weak heuristic. These culture collections are not independent events.

I don’t know how to feel about a game where the Kickers simultaneously squandered a win and also got jobbed and Kirkland is now a folk hero.
