We've successfully launched our first physical product: our Dottie Boards. With ever-strengthening sales and customer engagement, we've been able to give back and donate money to the RNLI to support their excellent work. We now have Dottie Boards being used up and down the UK and Ireland and look forward to bringing them to more hobbyist homes in the new year. We are also excited to bring our boards to new hobby markets, with our next focus being on aviation. We hope you all have a wonderful festive period and look forward to speaking to you all in 2026."

This year we placed focus on increasing our online offering, launching a new website: The CommCon Hub. We are thrilled that all of our amazing content from previous events is now under one roof. 2026 will bring more useful and community-focused content to the Hub, as well as seeing us explore how we can preserve our amazing in-person offering. We hope you have a wonderful holiday period and we can't wait to reconnect with you all in the New Year."

I hate WhatsApp. Hate it. (easy to google backdoors, etc). Doesn't matter though since millions use it.

ANYWAY... This being said, great article from @nimblea.pe ( @danjenkins.bsky.social ) on integrating WhatsApp with SIP.

You’d be surprised… employee says β€œticket is x” which is double that of early bird. Employer doesn’t know about early bird price. It gets authorised anyway. Some companies due to internal structures/wealth will just pay the full price

04.09.2025 09:45 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

That’s a good point. More conferences should offer full price tickets at the same time as early bird. A lot of larger businesses don’t necessarily need the early bird pricing.

I haven’t bought something recently purely with the intention of tinkering - there’s always been another reason. I just bought myself a car thing from the US. I know it’s defunct, no longer usable etc… unless you go and load open source firmware on it! Time to tinker

You are not an iOS or Android customer. Facebook and TikTok are.

Apple and Google conspire with Facebook and others to trick you to track you.

When you can, use a web browser rather than an app, and make sure it's *your* browser not the fake one Apple and Google provide to Facebook to deceive you.

I've been researching what would be required to make our own PCB for our Dottie Boards, we currently use the i75w from @pimoroni.com but we need an audio amplifier added to the board longer term.

Is the RM2 wifi module available for general purchase from @raspberrypi.com ? Can't find it on JLCPCB
