If you have witnessed the exchanges between anglophone media and Iranian FMs, obvious that reporters themselves are incapable of grasping the very concept of negotiation: they are puzzled that Iran is trying to negotiate at all, and not scrambling to accommodate whatever the US demands. it's obscene

they were not negotiating in good faith in any case! The question was probably whether Iran had something as valuable to offer (the Trumps and friendly oligarchs) as the (imagined) midterm boost and whatever the Gulf princes are offering and naturally they do not.
