I've had En Passant OTB a few times & often the opponent doesn't know how to write the move on their score sheet 🤔
Blue Sky is bringing back memories of Twitter a few years ago when my feed was mostly chess.
I've now moved Twitter off my main screen on my phone. But same, each time I open it, I remember it's not fun any more.
Last year I was arbiter & a player had a big attack, moved a rook & announced Checkmate & went to shake hands. (He thought it was)
The opponent was quite flustered (& luckily had a good look at the position) then said no it's not & proceeded to take the rook that was now hanging & went on to win.
I was an Arbiter at the Australian Junior Championship earlier in the year.
(Especially in the under 8's) So many hands went up each round ...... "Is this mate?"

Favourite is tough to answer.
On YT I usually watch something educational like openings overviews, speedruns, but honestly it's while I'm doing the dishes so only partly concentrating 😂
Some of the chess podcasts like chessdojo have video but usually listen only.
Surprisingly I've stuck to 1.d4 2.c4 for my entire 11 week OTB tournament. The longest I've ever kept up d4. Might go back to English, Spanish or Scotch soon.
Been trying Caro Kann online, but as a Sicilian player, can't bring myself to play CK OTB.
Still deciding between Slav (not Semi) or Nimzo.

You'll face 1.d4 more than you get online 😜
In OTB tournaments 1.d4 is almost as common as 1.e4, but online (at lower levels) e4 is a lot more common.
Although you can easily go a whole tournament getting one & not the other 🤷
