To Slay the Great Regurgitator

Today marks the anniversary of my last day of employment. I want nothing more than to continue doing art for a living, but I can only march down this path for so long before I am forced to give up the dream.

Every commission (even sketches!), every ko-fi helps me keep doing art a little longer.

Another thing worth quitting is chasing the industry and industry standards. I see in the comments you wanna make games. So make them? Let’s assume you wanna do concept art. Approach your art as if you were making concepts (or whatever else) for real company. It might actually end up being real 😉

By quitting I mean give yourself a break. Because it sounds like you’re running on fumes. Stop lashing yourself. Let yourself rest and relax. Don’t chase “getting better”. If deep down you like art and creating, that spark will come back with enough rest. Let yourself create because you need it.

I think it’s worth asking.

Did you always feel this way? Because to me your art (as in result) is beautiful and you definitely have a good thing going.

Because you might simply be burnt out. And if this is the case… it is worth quitting for a while. Like hear me out. It is backed by psychology
