Brycchan Carey, Professor of English at Northumbria University, talks about the life and work of 18th century Bristolian poet and milkwoman, Ann Yearsley.
In 1783 began to work for Hannah More, Hannah was her patron but the book interestingly describes the patronising manner taken towards her in the salon. In the end she becomes one of the few working class women poets successful in her own right. thebristolcable.org/2022/04/list...
