In honor of Black History Month, I am pleased to honor #AD61’s own and Lawndale Mayor Robert Pullen-Miles.

I was elected to the California State Assembly, not because I am a Black woman. But my service to my constituents, to my district and to the people of the State of California have been and will continue to be influenced by my unique life experience as a Black woman.

The project is an interactive way to learn about the state court system. It's incredible and will be coming to communities across LA County.

The right to join a union and bargain collectively is essential to economic security and human dignity of all California workers. AB 288 ensures that California workers can exercise this right.

California will not sit idly as its workers are systematically denied the right to organize due to employer intransigence or federal inaction. Proud to announce that AB 288 has been approved by the Legislature and now heads to the Governor.

A working stove and a working refrigerator are not luxuries - they are a necessary part of modern life. By making these necessary appliances standard in rental homes, California can provide all of its residents with a safer, more affordable and more dignified place to call home. #AB628

I am extremely concerned about the displacement of families from the Palisades and Altadena, especially families within the historically Black neighborhoods of Altadena. AB 851 is an important part of LA County’s work to rebuild from this disaster and I encourage Gov. Newsom to sign AB 851 into law.
