Just to be clear: Qobuz is the spotify replacement i'm using. There is a third party site you can use to transfer music between other platforms too but Qobuz has it built into their app. So when i paid $5 extra it was through the 3rd party. It's easier than i'm making it sound lol. dm if confused!

We're saving $2 a month on our dual plan anyway so we'll make up that $5 soon

Qobuz. Took me about ten minutes to create an account and transfer all my music. A few button presses. Transfer from spotify is free for a month but there are limits. My partner had more music and had to pay $5 for premium which we'll cancel before the month ends.

I am ashamed at how long it took me but i finally left spotify and the rumors are true: transferring all your music and playlists to a new service is so easy

The Last Two Years – Free Jack
Jack Mazurek, who was facing a decade in prison for his association with Defend the Forest / Stop Cop City movement, is getting time served + ten years probation.
Pretty amazing outcome, all things considered.

• A robot waiter may bring your food
i just wanna see the menu of a ramen place but instead i'm being waited on by a robot who seems to be anti-robot waiters

ICE was very active in Minneapolis today, they kidnapped multiple people. ICE didn't leave, the media has moved on but we are still under federal occupation.

In the OG Doom manual, Doomguy's backstory is that they shipped him off to Mars because his CO ordered him to fire on civilians and he sent the motherfucker to the hospital
Doomguy is anti-fascist AF

Doom and Wolfenstein do share a tongue-in cheek lore connection by the way. They are set in the same universe canon-wise.
There's also two levels in Doom II based upon Wolf3D where you can kill Nazis.
Doom may not prominently feature fashie killing but it doesn't forget its anti-fascist roots.

i love that after their sci-fi + nazis game, id Software's follow-up was Doom, which is just sci-fi + demons
if the formula ain't broke don't fix it

nowadays making a game about killing nazis is somehow a statement we gotta talk about, but in 1992 it was just the most popular thing on the market.

a color drawing of a man with his shirt off shooting a mini gun unto the air while shells fall. a long belt of ammo hags from the gun. the man is standing over a nazi who is dead on the ground with blood splattered on the floor. text says Wolfenstein 3D
the first person shooter genre exists because of how fun it is to just kill nazis.
while its predecessors had stealth elements, programmers for wolfenstein 3D did away with them because "[t]he game was most fun when it was a breakneck run through maps with tons of blasting down Nazis."

i kind of took each character as having flawed views of everything, but i didn't analyze it all enough to know whether that's true or there are a few specific narratives being repeated in a way that suggests they're the Right View

Conversely, Polygon's Diego Arguello said that Far Cry 6 "is a waste of potential", criticizing its Latin American stereotypes and feeling it fumbled any attempt at saying something meaningful despite the game's overt political theme, citing an instance "in which you rescue refugees by using a weapon that plays Macarena while you're aiming down its sights" 66] Writing for Vice, Matthew Gault criticized and described the game as "creatively and morally bankrupt", noting his article "isn't a review" because he could not continue playing it.! Screen Rant's Alex Santa Maria and Kotaku's Zack Zwiezen both criticized Far Cry 6 for being too similar to its predecessors. 681[69 The game has also been criticized for including a cockfighting minigame.
