I don’t think I appreciated how many covers JP did until I started this current dive into their discog. I knew about ‘Diamonds and Rust’ and ‘Green Manalishi’, obviously. But the fact that the Spooky Tooth and Gun songs weren’t their own was a surprise.

So excited, I spelt “Priest” wrong in the hashtag. 🙄

Look at that fucking cover! I mean LOOK at it!! Absolute fucking class! (Pun intended.) Weird, futuristic, alien, scary, vaguely horny… I love this Priest sleeve and “Point of Entry” the most. Beautifully abstract. The classic logo is in place too.

It’s a belter isn’t it!? I love it when bands can do something like ‘Rose’ AND ‘Dissident Aggressor’ on the same record. From a songwriting front AND in terms of having the sheer balls. Also, I’d argue their take on ‘Diamonds & Rust’ pre-empts Kiss’s “disco” phase by a year or two.

That Fall book reminds me of reading it on my train rides between Wakefield and Barnsley about 30 years ago.
