I suspect there is a bit of geographic bias in this. As in, wealthy people live in places where pedestrian traffic occurs in safe zones. If they hit anyone, it will not be there.

Rough fibers from a prehistoric shoe are partially buried in sand.

Prehistoric cave visitors left behind evidence of their time underground. This partially disintegrated shoe was likely left behind by someone mining the abundant gypsum in this particular cave. #cave #caving #archaeology
