I was in Kings Lynn last night to support The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn NHS Foundation Trust Awards Ceremony. This event recognises the fantastic staff and volunteers that provide incredible service to patients and visitors at the QEH.

Labour should consider hiking gambling tax to fight child poverty, Powell says Deputy leadership hopeful Lucy Powell said Gordon Brown's proposal to hike gambling tax to fund axing the two-child benefit limit should get 'careful consideration'

Labour is at its best when we are clear about whose side we are on, and in whose interests we serve, when our values shine through.

I want us to be clear that our objective is to lift children out of poverty and that will mean we need to lift the 2 child benefit cap www.mirror.co.uk/news/politic...

As I have said with regards the Queen Elizabeth Hospital its staff and patients have been let down for many, many years.

We needing to putting resources in, we need to be putting money in and our residents deserve far better when it comes to healthcare.

Terrified piglets hit in face and kicked across floor in farm scandal The astonishing cruelty - exposed in new undercover footage obtained by this newspaper - is just one of a litany of harrowing scenes captured at a factory farm.

Yet further disgusting video footage of animal abuse at a Cranswick arm.

Such abuse should have no place in our society or indeed our food supply chain.

Enough is enough.

There needs to be more frequent inspections and supervision of staff.

There is the old political adage courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen.

Right now, we need more of the latter.

The Tories cut police officers by 20,000.

Labour will deliver extra 13,000 frontline officers into neighbourhood roles to make our streets and communities safer.

This includes the rollout of specialist technology to bring dangerous criminals to justice.

We desperately need a railway system that people can rely on in the East of England.

Whether passengers are taking a single trip or commuting every day, they should feel that the railway is there to help them.

I believe that people should trust that their train will be on time.

YouTube video by Terry Jermy MP I spoke to BBC Radio Norfolk About Blue Badges Access

This morning I highlighted the need to broaden the criteria for Blue Badges.

We need more face to face assessments to ensure we are not isolating or taking away people's independence; many of whom are older people in rural areas.
