Thank you for this as it helps clarify my own positions. I recently attended a conference that nudged participants in the direction of AI as a partner in learning. I know students will need to learn how to use it constructively, but it still seems to run counter to what I value in my classroom.

I realize that when the world gets really ugly and things seem bleak, I look for some form of escape. Sometimes this takes the form of sports—hockey or baseball. But it’s been so bad lately that for the past two days I’ve binge-watched Hallmark movies. It’s about as far from reality as I can get.

But for the arbitrary nature of birth and circumstance, any of us could be living in poverty, dependent upon assistance to put food on the table, to take our children to the doctor, and to pull ourselves out of debt. The lack of empathy, the pure callousness on display in this bill, is infuriating.

This broke me.

I’m in a book study about AI usage. One question was about memorable writing experiences. Is there writing you did for school that resonated with you? That you remember the process that went into it? What made it memorable? (The same question can be asked about reading experiences). #AI #ELA

I’ve known for well over a year of writing that a character I created would die. He started just as a flashback and worked his way into a rewrite and new draft that evolved into two hundred+ pages. I finally killed him off today and am heartbroken.

Never has anti-Leafs bias been clearer than that Sam Bennett penalty. Nothing for his hit on Stolarz. Gets pushed into Skinner and draws a penalty after the fact. So effing bullshit.

I hate that the Canes gave me a little hope tonight. I can’t root for the Panthers in the final no matter how much I despise the Oilers. Maybe the Stars will surprise me…

I work often with new teachers on pacing and transitions. If they don’t plan well, kids get bored or lose attention. Many classroom management issues emerge from lack of engagement.

As much as the Leafs frustrate me, sometimes we fans just need to acknowledge the obvious: we lost because the other team is simply better. Watching the Hurricanes get suffocated and bullied in the same way, makes me respect the little the Leafs could do against Florida.
